Mallee Sustainable Farming (MSF) is a vital resource for farmers in the low-rainfall Mallee regions of Australia, offering research-driven solutions to the challenges of sustainable farming. When MSF approached us, their existing website was outdated and difficult to navigate, especially given the vast array of resources and active projects they manage. They needed a complete revamp to better organize content and improve the user experience.

Content Restructure & Resource Hub

We began by completely overhauling the content structure to ensure MSF’s extensive resources, tools, and research projects were easily accessible to farmers and researchers alike. MSF has over 21 active projects, ranging from soil amelioration to Mallee Seeps management, and it was crucial that their audience could efficiently navigate through these complex topics. We introduced a new, more intuitive navigation system that brought MSF’s valuable research and tools to the forefront of the user experience.

Interactive Tools & Calculators

A key aspect of the new platform was the development of several unique interactive calculators and decision trees, aimed at assisting farmers with real-time decision-making. One standout tool was the Mallee Seeps decision tree, which helps farmers diagnose common soil issues, such as salinity and water retention problems. These tools enable farmers to implement best-practice solutions based on real-time data and insights.

Agrisolve: Satellite-Based NDVI Data Platform

One of the most significant pieces we built and integrated was the Agrisolve platform, a groundbreaking tool that allows users to access NDVI satellite data for any location in Australia. Farmers can view vegetation health and filter this data by specific dates, which is particularly helpful for identifying early signs of Mallee Seeps—a critical issue for the region.

Agrisolve provides users with actionable insights, allowing them to make informed decisions about soil and crop management. This platform has revolutionized how farmers interact with and interpret satellite data to improve sustainability practices.

The revamped MSF website now acts as a comprehensive hub for sustainable farming resources, with advanced tools to assist farmers in managing their crops and land more effectively. The addition of tools like Agrisolve has greatly enhanced the platform’s functionality, empowering farmers with the data they need to make informed decisions.
